Example 1
In SW 640, the instructor describes the purpose and objectives of the final group project assignment.
Purpose and Objective of Assignment The assignment is designed for active participation in your learning and for teaching your fellow classmates policies and practices which are linked to current Child Welfare practices and engagement with families. The learning outcome measures are based on the ability to present a brief history of your topic, important key elements of the practice or policy, and examples of the practice or policy from the field of social work. Groups should also critically examine their own beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors around Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health/Wellness, Indian Child Welfare Act Update, Substance Abuse and Family Violence. Upon the completion of this unit students will be able to articulate the current implementation of policies and laws through just practice, and the realities of influence the law and policy have in enhancing the well-being of children, families, and workers involved in the child welfare system or other community supportive systems. Students will also articulate how Competency 2 and Competency 5 relate to promising practices in child welfare. In particular, show how Competency 2 and Competency 5 relate to child welfare policy, wellbeing, and service delivery in child welfare. At the end of assignment students will demonstrate an understanding of the social worker’s role in advocacy for implementing best practices in child welfare, mental health and the community as whole while addressing equalities in Indigenous and rural Communities. |

The Course Roadmap Template Download Course Roadmap Template provides an easy method to connect the course learning outcomes to each week or unit in the course with weekly objectives, activities, and assignments. The template looks at where each of the course learning outcomes is being met within the course, as well as provides an overall view of the course as a whole.
